EMI MUSIC PUBLISHING
Pendulum's Rob Swire Signs Global Publishing Agreement With EMI Music Publishing

London, November 17 2010 – EMI Music Publishing, the world’s leading publisher of popular music, has signed a long-term worldwide publishing deal with singer, songwriter, musician and producer Rob Swire.

The founder and creative powerhouse of Pendulum, Swire has produced and written their best known and most successful tracks including ‘Slam’, ‘Granite’, ‘Propane Nightmares’ and ‘Watercolour’. He recently co-wrote Rihanna's 'Rude Boy' and Deadmau5’ 'Ghosts n Stuff' and has also produced several remixes for other artists including The Prodigy’s ‘Voodoo People’ and Plan B’s ‘Stay Too Long’.

EMI will represent all of Swire’s new material for both Pendulum and other artists moving forward. This new relationship is one aspect of an ongoing strategic partnership between Swire, JHO Management and EMI Music Publishing.

Swire’s manager Jho Oakley said "Rob and I are both very excited to be working with Guy Moot, Daniel Lloyd Jones and all at EMI Publishing. At just 28 years of age Rob is a special talent, both as a writer, producer and performer and we both feel that what he's achieved to date with Pendulum and as a writer/producer for others really is only the beginning"

EMI Music Publishing’s President, UK and European A&R Guy Moot commented: 'The whole EMI Music Publishing team is delighted to have signed Rob and are completely focused on bringing his music to a global audience. He is a hugely talented songwriter and performer and has proven track record of collaborating with other artists and writers. Working alongside JHO Oakley we look forward to cementing and expanding the brand that is Pendulum.”

Daniel Lloyd Jones, Senior A&R Manager added “Rob Swire is one of the greatest contemporary composers working today. To find a world class topline writer is one thing, but to have a visionary and versatile topline and track artist is rare in this industry. He’s the lifeblood and creative energy behind Pendulum and an ambitious songwriter as demonstrated by his recent collaborations with Rhianna and Deadmau5. We will work with Rob to maximize his potential as a songwriter and I’m really excited about what can be achieved.”

As producer and lead singer of Australian rock/dance band Pendulum, Swire has gained a reputation for his experimental approach to writing and creating music. An accomplished musician who plays everything from guitar and bass to synthesizers and keyboards, Swire and Pendulum have developed a distinctive sound which combines elements from both electronic and rock genres. Pendulum have had several hit albums in Australia and New Zealand as well as in Europe, including in the UK where their most recent album, ‘Immersion’, released May 2010, debuted at number one.
