EMI MUSIC PUBLISHING
One Song Can Change Everything -- EMI MP Paints Powerful Statement In Williamsburg NYC
Taio Cruz

The mural in Williamsburg, New York

EMI has once again been named Billboard publisher of the year after another fantastic year for our songwriters on the US charts!

Indeed, when it comes to the Hot 100, we weren't just the number one publisher, but the number two and number four publisher as well, such was the performance of our writers. This was an incredible achievement, and keeps EMI at the top of the heap for a fifteenth consecutive year.  EMI writers are performing well in every genre and category, placing in the top two publishers in R&B/hip-hop, country, and Latin.

There's another reason to pick up the year-end edition of Billboard, and that's our pullout poster to celebrate another amazing year for our writers.  Two weeks ago, we had a team of artists painting a giant wall in Williamsburg, here in New York, to make a powerful statement about the works that we are privileged to represent. The line we’re using is “One song can change everything”. Whether you’re a writer who has just written an incredible hit, a music supervisor whose choice of track captures the public imagination, or a music fan who has connected with the lyrics of a song that she hears on the radio, songs have the power to change lives forever.

If you’re in New York, do go to have a look at the wall which is above the Fette Sau restaurant at Metropolitan Avenue and Havemeyer Street. For those not in New York, you can see the image attached here: www.onesongcanchangeeverything.com. There you'll also see a time-lapse video of the creation of the wall.
