Armando Avila
At the age of 35, Armando Avila is one of the top producers and composers within the Mexican market. The quality of his work is illustrated in the production of some of the most important artists in Mexico whom also cross into the US Latin market such as:
RBD: more than 8 million combined units (albums: Rebelde, Rebelde Brasil Edition, Rebelde Tour Generation, Nuestro Amor, Celestial, Empezar Desde Zero, and Hecho en España para Olvidarte De Mi)
La Quinta Estacion: more than 1 million combined units ( albums: Flores de Alquiler, Acustico, El Mundo Se Equivoca and Sin frenos).
Aleks Syntek: more than 500,000 combined units (De noche En La Ciudad, Mundo Lite, Mundo Live and Lecciones de Vuelo)
Gloria Trevi: 250,000 combined units (Como Nace el Universo and Una Rosa Blu)
Other artists that he has produced include: Allison, Moderatto, Belinda, Lidia Avila, Carlos Rivera, Hash, Ana Torroja, Janina, Reyli, Natalia Lafourcade, Jumbo, Angeles, Bolonky and Alejandra Guzman.
Avila owns one of the largest and most prominent studios in Mexico, home to Cosmos Producciones, an important Production House which at this moment is credited for the production of 6 albums sitting on the top 20 positions of Mexican charts. This includes Luis Fonsi's "Palabras Del Silencio" which is in the top ten position in album charts in Mexico. He is currently working on David Bisbal's new album as well as productions for Alex Syntek, Eiza Gonzalez and Anahi (Ex RBD member). Avila is also working on Moenia's "En Electrico", which brings forth the return of one of the best bands of Electronic Pop in the history of the genre in Mexico. Avila has won a Latin Grammy award and been nominated for 8. He has 4 ASCAP awards and a Billboard Latin Music award and is the face of Billboard's 2009 Latin Producer of the year.
